General Electric commissioned me to do an illustration for an opening art show showcasing patient stories. Lachlan’s mother is a sales rep for GE and an ultrasound tech. When testing the equipment on her two year old son one day, she discovered a cancerous tumor on his kidney. Luckily, the tumor was discovered early enough that he was able to receive treatment and go on to live the rest of his life. Lachlan is now a teenager and hopes to attend medical school and his hobbies include football, fishing, and spending time with family. I incorporated all these themes into the final art, which was exhibited in Chicago’s Columbia College and then installed permanently in a GE facility in Wisconsin.
